A possibility recommendation by YouTube drew this band out into the open. An admonition however, connecting their moniker to Google without knowing the names Valeska Steiner and Sonja Glass will yield the word reference meaning of â€Å"boy.† Dont even take a stab at including â€Å"band† into the pursuit box or youll simply get pages and pages on the Backstreet Boys, N*Sync, and One Direction. The music video for the single â€Å"Little Numbers† portrays the two young ladies skipping around Barcelona, and its practically unthinkable not to grin or move when you hear the tune. In no way, shape or form a beating, dance club track, and without the computerized finagling weve become used to, â€Å"Little Numbers† is a straightforward, bright melody that can be acknowledged in any season, and can be relied on to satisfy you. Other decision tracks incorporate the fantastic, percussion-overwhelming â€Å"Waitress,† the melancholy and nostalgic â€Å"Drive Darling,† the inquisitively tempting and preventative â€Å"Boris,† and the indefinable, resonant â€Å"Skin. Hawthornes Rappaccinis Daughter Essay - 3312 Words

Hawthornes Rappaccinis Daughter This essay focuses on the way Hawthorne’s â€Å"Rappaccini’s Daughter† articulates the tension between the spirit and the empirical world. Hawthorne challenges the empirical world Rappaccini, both malevolent for his experimentation with human nature and sympathetic for his love for his daughter, represents, by raising an aesthetic question Rappaccini implicitly asks. Hawthorne never conclusively answers this question in his quest to preserve spiritual beauty in an empirical world, offering the most disturbing possibility of all: could art and the artist prove as fatal to the human spirit as empiricism? Hawthorne’s sinister representation of Rappaccini early in the story belies this self-isolating†¦show more content†¦But, as the tale reveals, Baglioni’s envy emerges in the â€Å"professional warfare† in which Rappaccini, not Baglioni, has â€Å"gained the advantage† (928). Baglioni’s description of Beatrice and Rappaccini, as Beatrice will later reveal to Giovanni, prove at least somewhat false because his intentions are tainted by a desire that Rappaccini not â€Å"snatch the lad [Giovanni] out of [his] hands†¦and make use of him for his infernal experiments† (932). Rather, Baglioni approaches Giovanni for the sole purpose of deprecating his rival’s character and daughter, with an obvious jealousy that motivates him and ultimately destroys Giovanni’s faith in the beauty, innocence, and spiritual essence Beatrice represents. Giovanni’s first impressions of Beatrice support Baglioni’s view of Rappaccini and his daughter, who â€Å"looked redundant with life, health, and energy; all of which attributes were bound down and compressed, as it were, and girdled tensely, in their luxuriance, by her virgin zone† (926). Like one of the flowers in the garden, Rappaccini tends his daughter with a â€Å"watchful eye,† which binds and compresses her, protecting her chastity from lustful intentions. Adoption enables the lives of many children to be transformed; it offers children, who are orphaned, abandoned, neglected, abused, or unwanted a chance to live in a stable, loving environment. The adoptive parent-child union is commonly looked at as sanctified because the adoptive parents provide a needy infant with love, a home, and nurture. To review extent theories and models to find out the barriers and remedies in using online banking To analyze the role of online banking in increasing the business for banking sector in Pakistan. To identify the remedies and to suggest how to promote the use of online banking in Pakistan. Barriers in Using Online Banking in Pakistan Although online banking is the latest development in banking sector that has added new dimensions to banking transactions by making it more convenient. But, there are some serious problems that you may encounter while banking through the internet, due to which many still prefer to go directly to the banks instead of availing this facility. Following are the main berries preventing banking consumer to use online banking in Pakistan; Computer Illiteracy Limited Internet Access A country like Pakistan computer literacy is the biggest hurdle in using of internet banking as computer literacy rate is comparatively lower than other Asian countries. As we know for carrying out internet banking properly, a basic knowledge of computers and the Internet is required, which limits the number of people willing to avail this facility. Many people, who are not comfortable with computers and the Internet, often find it difficult to use internet banking. Therefore, for beginners, internet banking is really a time consuming. In addition to this, people also find a difficulty in trusting a completely mechanized system like internet banking, in case of financial matters. In many instances, a simple mistake, like clicking a wrong button, may create a big problem. And so, many individuals often keep wondering if they have properly executed the transaction. However, this uneasiness can be avoided by printing the transaction receipt and keeping it with oneself, until the bank st atement is received. Security Concerns Internet and Computer security is also main hurdle in use of online banking in Pakistan. While banking through the internet, you have to be careful about the security of your internet bank account. The security of your internet bank account depends to a great extent on the security of your computer, password and pin number. Any leakage of information regarding your password or pin number and banking transactions can allow computer hackers to gain access to your bank account, which is the most common internet banking problem. This can lead to unauthorized and criminal transactions being conducted without your knowledge. By the time you get your bank statement and detect such transactions, it may be too late. In internet banking, you have to make sure that the banking session is secure, as in many instances you may encounter proxy websites. These proxy websites can easily access your bank account, if they can crack your user name, password or pin number. Due to such security problems, many people are apprehensive about internet banking. Without Technical Assistance from Bank Staff Sometimes, internet banking can be time consuming and tedious, as many websites take quite a long time to get started. Besides this, your internet bank account may also take considerable time to get started. You may also encounter technical difficulties and connectivity problems while conducting internet banking transactions. There is a customer care department in almost every bank to look into such matters, but often you may not be able to get the necessary assistance due to the congestion in the computer and telephone network. On the other hand, in normal banking, you can simply converse with the bank officials to sort out any problem. Impact of Online Banking on Banking Business in Pakistan The adoption of electronic banking has enhanced efficiency of banking sector by making it more productive and effective. E-banking is a successful strategic weapon for banks to remain profitable in a volatile and competitive marketplace of today. Clearly, despite the threats posed by non-bank financial intermediaries, there is enormous opportunity for farsighted banks to reap the rewards available from e-banking. If banks are to retain their competitiveness, they must focus on customer retention and relationship management, upgrade and offer integration and value added services, especially in the consumer-banking sector. Technology has indeed transformed the Pakistan banking sector, but the technology itself has undergone a sea-change. It has been an arduous yet learning journey for the Pakistani banking system which has passed the milestones of Automated Ledger Posting Machines, the mainframes, the minicomputers, microcomputers and PCs. Infect, the banking system has mirrored the de velopments in the computer Industry. Delivery channel developments came next, with the ATM changing banking rules and forming the base for innovative channel developments such as Internet banking and the recent ones to enter the field-call centers and mobile banking. Now, the current and infect lasting trend will be that of centralization through implementation of centralized banking solutions which will integrate a banking applications, processes and delivery channels. This has in turn, led to a surfeit of backend developments such as security tools, networking and data warehousing. Put simply, a bank has come to rely on technology like never before. In the past, banking was influenced by technology, now it seems technology is influenced by banking. References Carlson, J., Furst, K., Lang, W., Nolle, D. (2001, revised). What challenges did David Melanin and his executive team face in managing the customer experience as the airline grew rapidly? How did they respond to those challenges? We have used the McKinney as Framework to analyze the steps taken by David Melanin after the first crisis of 2005. as Framework is used for auditing the current state of the organization and it can also be used to implement new strategy. S framework consist Of hard and soft Gs. All the as have to align for the strategy to work. If the as are aligned then the short- term strategy also works. Strategy: Jet Blue short-term strategy was to scale up to increase the revenue by market development. They planned to expand their services to medium and small sized cities. They believed that since the carriers in medium and short run cities are less they can charge a premium on the t ickets leading to better revenues. Structure In order to implement the strategy the firm also has to restructure its organization chart. There is no information present in the case on the change on restructuring of the organization. The people involved in the organization structure were CEO, David Melanin and Chief Operating Officer, Dave Barge. There are instances in the case were it is highlighted that CEO was involved in every aspect Of the business. We believe that they should have hired people from the local area upon expansion so that the load on the CEO and Chief Operating Officer should have been reduced and better handling of the on ground resources could have taken place by quick decision making. They should have restructured the organization. This was one S, which was not aligned with the company strategy. Systems: In order to implement the new strategy it is important for the organization to improve upon the systems and current processes. Jet Blue moved towards automation and smarter business processes; however Jet Blue did not pay any emphasis on customer support and capacity of the system. This led to increased chaos during the time of the crisis. Jet Blue should have load tested there system for the maximum calls and maximum bookings. The system went down when people tried to reschedule or cancel their flights during the time of the crisis. This was another place where Jet Blue strategy was not in line with the existing capacity of the system. Skills Jet Blue did improve the productivity of its workforce upon implementation of the new strategy. The employees were trained to be more productive to handle additional traffic. The Skills were aligned with the strategy. Style The management was actively involved with the customer and employee. The employees also responded positively to the management style. The Style was aligned with the strategy. Shared Value The shared value among the employees of the Jet Blue was to provide the end customer with Jet Blue experience. The Jet Blue experience was high service quality at low cost. The strategy was to expand but not at the expense of shared values. Jet Blue employees were living up to the promise of providing he same-shared values. Staff The staffs of Jet Blue were not increased on scaling up there was a gap between the resource and the demand of the employee. The prefect example of same was when the Jet Blue went through the crisis in 2007 the pilots and ground staffs were not enough to handle the situation on ground. The Style was not aligned with strategy of the company. The model clearly highlights the Gap in the Jet Blue new strategy were in by auditing using as framework we came to know that Staff, System and Structure were not in line with the Jet Blue strategy as a result Of which Jet Blue Was not able to provide prompt covers to people during the time of crisis and hence failed miserably. 3.
